I like Jack as well, but as a name nerd it bothers me to see it used as a full name. The rest of the world would disagree with me -- I've very commonly heard people say things like, "If you're just going to call him/her by [nickname], why would you bother naming him/her [full name]?" It especially happens with nicknames like Jack and Sadie which don't really make sense unless you know their etymologies.

Anyway, I think Jack can stand on its own but I wouldn't do it. I would use John nickname Jack.
