I like it. I really do. The thing is on an actually person they'd get "Thane the pain with only half a brain" as do Shanes. But I think it's great!

Thane is a Scottish lord, so I'd put it in the same category as Prince, Princess, Duke, et al. Not my style.

I like it, but I wouldn't use it. The first person I heard of with this name was a contestant on So You Think You Can Dance. He spelled it Thayne. I like the spelling Thane better.

As in MacBeth, Thane of Glamis? Shortly thereafter thane of Cawdor?
