I like Jack too...but I really adore it as a nickname for John. Although it is rather classic...I'd much, much rather see a baby Jack than a baby Braiden.And I agree with you: I'm not a huge fan of extravagant modern names. I definitely prefer the simple, old-time classics and I will swoon over a nice, simple name more than a pretentious fancy one (I was beaming upon hearing that Tom Brady named his son John Edward Thomas, which I absolutely adore). Jack Benjamin is my favourite combo out of the one's you listed. John Edmund Francis "Jack" is a combo I came up with, so I'm not as fond of Edmund with just Jack. Jack Henry and Jack Silas seem too short, but Jack Samuel has a really nice flow.
