My name's Brooke. My mum purposely picked a name that couldn't easily be shortened or whatever, as she thinks it takes away from the power of a name. So what do people do? Lengthen it! I'm mostly Brookie, sometimes coupled with rhymes of Brookie. Occasionally Cookie from one friend, Boogy from another, Brookles from a few people, including a teacher. B2 (long story) from another friend, and Bebop or B-doody from another. Two people call me Brookster. I have campaigned for Boo in the past lol but I don't think it works that way.
I don't mind nicknames, as long as I like the person using it. I don't mind Brookie, although sometimes I find it a bit cutesy (there's a character on a show I watch atm called Brooke and every time someone calls her Brookie it makes my skin crawl). I went through a stage in my teens when I signed everything 'brooki' coz it looked cute lol but I'm over it now.
