Re: What's your nickname?

My name is Amy, sort of a perpetual nickname in itself. Amelia nn Amy might have been nice. Pretty much the main nickname I get is "Ames," which is very affectionate. I never tell people to use it or anything or say anything about it, but I sort of like it. People have to decide on their own to use it, and I think it's sweet that people felt I was deserving of an affectionate nickname. I was surprised when a co-worker started calling me Ames off the bat. That's a bit odd to me. Usually it's a nickname that developes over times. My best guy friend calls me Ames a lot too. He goes by Matt, but ironically, as a "nickname" I call him Matthew. His mom seems to gets a kick out of it. If he was a Matti, I would call him Matti, but he's not. The little boy in him is a Matthew lol. Matt would call our friend John, Jonathan. Even though his full name isn't Jonathan lol. Anybody else have friends you do this with? Use full names as a "nickname."
Some people call me Jazz from the beginning sound of my last name, which I really like, but few people manage to come up with it. Maybe I'll prod some people towards that nickname...
Anyway, I love nicknames! I wish my parents named me something with more nickname options. How many nicknames can you get out of Amy Lynn? My brother hit the jackpot. He's Robert. He could go by a million and one names.

Oh I forgot! LUZ -- I use it a lot in Spanish-speaking situations. Some people only know me by this name.
