WDYTO Eve?
Eve has been on my shortlist so long that I've become unsure about it. Remind me why I love it? Or why I should let it go?I adore the combo Eve Laura Bernadette. Bernadette is my mother's confimation name and I know she'd be thrilled to see it used. She wishes it was her legal middle name. I like the nickname Evie too. Makes me think of a 1920s flapper girl. I guess I like Eve because it's an underused classic that everyone's heard of, and it makes me think of the Garden of Eden -- a woman arisen from paradise, woman as she should be, timeless and free from wordly trends. Eve. Simple and perfect...Or at least that's how I talk myself back into it. I'm curious to hear other people's thoughts on the name.

I'd let it go. I love short names, but Eve never did it for me. I always think of "evil" whenever I hear it.

So much better than Eva. It's pretty, but I find it uncomfortably close to heave, which is discouraging. My friend's sister is Lyneve, which I like a whole lot better than either Evelyn or Eve. Niamh isn't bad either but I wouldn't use it, or Eve.

Never associated it with heave lol...how did that come about?

As a personal opinion, I really don't like Eve. I'm not sure whether the fact that she's a major reason for sin, sickness, pain and death has anything to do with it but I've just never liked it. I'm not much for 3 letter names though. Anyway, that's just me.

I do like it, but really only as a mn.
It's a nice name, I just think it has too many connotations. Adam and Eve, Eve feminine products, Christmas Eve, New Years Eve, etc. Oh, and Eve the rapper/singer.
But I think it could kind of fit everyone, from nerds to the pretty popular crowd.
And it has the nn Evie, which I enjoy. Though there is always Evelyn and Evelina, other names I enjoy that have Evie as a nn.It has it's ups and downs, but so does everyname. If you like it, which it seems that you do, then keep it.
