Masculine or Feminine?
And how would you instinctively pronounce
Dionis / Dionys ????
Dionis / Dionys ????

Masculine
And it looks like it would be pronounced dion-ehs

I'd say masc. and I'd instinctively pronounce it DEE-ONISS
I'd say it's masculine. It makes me think of Dionysus, the god of wine and fertility and all that jazz. My first thought as to the pronunciation of Dionis/Dionys was "die-OH-nis."
I would think masculine, and would pronounce them DIE-oh-nihs.
Definitely masculine, although I did meet a female Donis once.
My instinctive pronunciation is dy-ON-is, and I would guess masculine.
DIE-on-iss
DIE-on-ice (lol)
DIE-on-ice (lol)
Thanks
dee-OWN-iss
Dionis/Dionys is masculine to me. Dionne is unisex but I prefer it as a female's name. It's the name of my mother, too ;)

Thanks!
I've never heard of Dionis / Dionys before. But I'd be very surprised if it weren't related to Dionysia, a favorite of mine. I pronounce Dionysia as, "dee-uh-NEE-see-uh," but I've also heard "die-uh-NIE-see-uh."
Dionysius is also related. ("die-uh-NIE-see-us" or "dee-uh-NEE-see-us")
They all are original forms of Denis / Dennis / Denise, I believe.
To answer your original question, I'd guess that Dionis / Dionys was masculine. But that's a total guess.

I was guessing masculine too and most others seem to agree. I was thinking dee AHN iss (end part rhymes with Adonis) for the pronunciation.
I agree that it is probably related to the other Dion- names.
If I used it, Dion (dee AHN) would be a nn possibility.
Drewell (Drew) , Donovan, and Dionis (Dion) do go well togehter I think.

Dionys seems strictly masculine, in my opinion. The pronounciation depends on the spelling. Dionis to me woudl be Dee-OH-niss, while Dionys would be DIE-oh-nees.
Thanks. So you think there might be a long O sound. Hmmmm.
Dye-AW-nis ... and I'd probably assume masculine, but it could also be feminine, the gender preference is not strong for me. It's unfamiliar to me.

I was guessing MASCULINE as well, but some naming sites have it listed as feminine. When I looked it up on Facebook and Google image... all of them were guys though.
dee ONN iss
This is the pronunciation I guessed and like best.
