WDYT of Lucy?
My cousin and his wife are considering it for their next baby and it was very nearly my name. I've never really given it much thought to be honest.Do you prefer it as a nn or as a full name? If you like it as a nn, what is your favourite full version of it?

I like Lucy. I plan to use it for a dog one day, if I ever get a female dog. It would be nice on a little girl though, too.

I'm not very fond of Lucy.I wouldn't consider it for a full name but it's quite nice as a nn. A good full version of "Lucy" would be Lucinda.

I love Lucy, and it's a family name for me (my grandmother's middle name, and her mother's name) so it's a contender in the future. :)I prefer Lucy as a full name on its own, and actually don't like it as a nn for Lucille since it's historically the other way around anyway!

I really enjoy Lucy. It is classy and fun. I considered this for my daughter but my parents have a dog named Lucy so my husband and I passed on it. :(

Lucy's lovely; I prefer Lucie as a nickname.

I really adore it, and it on the list of consideration for this baby if Fable doesn't fit. The only problem is that my grandmother-in-law has a beagle dog named Lucy...I personally would use it as a full name, but I love it as a nickname for Lucille too.

I love it. I prefer it as a full name, as I like it much more than Lucille, and more than Lucinda.

I like it. It's cute.
I might like to see it as a shortening of Lucretia. Lucretia is a family name. I suppose it could also be short for Lucinda.

I like it as full name. It's a good name - getting very popular here. I know at least two people with daughters called Lucy.

I love it! I think its gorgeous on its own or as a nickname for Lucille.

I think it's fine as a full name, it is legit as such, and I prefer it to Lucille, Lucinda, etc.
It's plain and sophisticated at once, and overall quite an appealing name.

I like it as a full name. I don't think I've ever met a Lucy that I didn't like. They're usually quite bubbly and gregarious.

I especially love it. Lucy Caroline is a flawless combo.

Not quite flawless ... I love that combo too but both names (which are among my top favourites individually)sound silly with my surname! Bitter blow!!! :~(

I'm sorry :-[

It's okay, it sounds like an aunt-like person to me. Picturing it on a little kid is a bit difficult but I think it would be a cute name for a baby. I prefer it as a full name; I don't like Lucinda, Lucille, etc. nn Lucy. Although I do prefer Lucia to Lucy; that's what I would name the baby if it were me.

I really don't like Lucy. It's not technically a bad name, but I find it hopelessly whiny and insufferable. Far too twee for my liking. It doesn't make sense to me that Lucy would be a nickname for, say, Lucinda or Lucille or whatever, considering they're all elaborations/diminutives of Lucia, not the other way around. And Lucia is just the Latinate form of Lucy, anyway. I think I'd rather see Lucy NN Lucilla, not Lucilla NN Lucy. (Actually, now that I think about it, I kind of like Lucinda, despite its frills.)

I like the name Lucy; it's cute, but at the same not too youthful. I was also almost named this. However, I may slightly prefer it as a nickname to Lucille.

It has really been growing on me lately. I prefer it as a full name.
