Nigel
I've always liked this name but thought it better suited for a pet than a human because it feels a bit stuffy to me. Lately I've been liking it more and more and thinking why couldn't I use it? WDYTO Nigel? Do you think it's stuffy as well? I'm trying to figure out if that's just some odd association I came up with on my own or if others see it that way as well. What do you picture when you hear the name Nigel? TIA.

Nigel - very British and poshI picture fashion photographer Nigel Barker in terms of looks and accent beacuse I have been watching America's Next Top Model lately. He is British and very cute but also very personable.

Nigel does bring to mind a stuffy British guy, but I still like it, too. And I can somehow imagine it on a little boy in England. :)

When I was 8 or 9 years old I wanted to name my son Sheldon Nigel Raine. I think of it as a very British name, which may make it "stuffy" to some people because of the stereotype of Brits. I don't necessarily think it's stuffy, but I do find it too British for my current tastes."No one can make you feel inferior without your consent."

Nigel is Nigel Thornberry to me, I'm afraid--a well-meaning but oblivious, bumbling guy with a British accent. If I met a boy named Nigel, that would probably change in a heartbeat.I think that it could work on a child. While it definitely has the British fop association going with it, it's also so rarely used (at least in the U.S.) that meeting one would be a refreshing experience. I think Nigel is workable.Array

We'll see the stars that shine so bright
