I like it - my SIL said she considered it for her daughter Nóra. I like Hanora too. I don't think it's too virtue at all.The only Honoras I have met sounded the H - Hon-or-a.

It isn't my style, but it's not too bad. I prefer Honor, though.

love love loveI love Honora, can you tell? It's just so elegant and gold and the long o sound and the a at the end and the way it looks... ahhhhh, lovely.I don't think it's too virtuey at all. Honor, perhaps, but even that is one of the few virtue names I like.

I prefer Annora. I dislike Honora/Honoria and Honour/Honor.

Reminds me of Honora Parker - the victim of the Parker-Hulme murder. Can't really get that association out of my head.

Never heard of her or the murder

Very lovely name, a Norman import into the British Isles, especially Ireland.
I love Honor as well, but more in the mn spot. I think Sofia (on these boards) was surprised to see Honor (that spelling) in a recent Britsih BA - it always has been spelled that way here, long predating the fixed spelling of the verb/noun "honour".
Not so fond of Honoria - I think the -ia ending is overdone.
Honora is perfect!

Yes - hence the northern spinoff Annora/Onnora.

I prefer Honor personally. Honora just sounds a little convoluted. It's okay though.
