WDYTO Sharon?
I haven't seen much of this name anymore. It is definitely losing popularity. Do you think it will make a come back or is it going to be in limbo for a while?

First Thought: Middle aged woman
Second THought: Ozzy Osbourne bellowing "SHARONNNN!!!!" on The Osbournes
I don't expect a comeback for awhile. The "-ron" part of the name is too hard and not cutesy enough for the parents who like the popular and/or trendy names today. And it isn't old enough or exotic enough for those who like those kind of names.

It's not a bad name, but it definetly sounds dated and is in "name limbo" as you say. :)
I think it will be in limbo for a while. At the moment it's dated, but 20 or so years from now I can see it making a comeback.

I think it'd be a while before this one makes a comeback but I like it anyway, probably because there aren't tons of five year old Sharons around. :-) It always reminds me of Rose of Sharon from The Grapes of Wrath.
Well, it's never been one of my favorites, and I don't really know anyone who likes it not even my aunt Sharon! I propably wouldn't use it, not even to honor her!!! I's not much for Sh names like Shannon, Shirley, Sherry, Sheryl!! I do love Siobhan though wich is pronounced shi-vawn, but that's mostly because it's Irish, I wouldn't really ever use it for my daughter! :)
So at least in the near future I really don't see Sharon comming back at all, not while there's Emily, Emma, Abigail, Catherine, and Elizabeth floating around. People even seem to like Bianca more than Sharon! :)

I like it-I have a friend who is 36 named Sharon so I think of her although every other Sharon I know is at least ten years older than that. It's a pretty name-I hope it comes back in style one day.
It will be in limbo for a while. They say names make a comeback when the majority of their bearers have died, and therefore they are no longer associated with the older generation. Which is why names like Ivy and Iris are making a comeback now, but not Karen and Jennifer, who are still very much alive! Lol. Sharon is too recently dated to make a comeback, for now.
Anyway, I dislike Sharon. It's hard sounding to me.

LOL - that's so funny - I think of it as such a soft-sounding name!
Perhaps ...
... it sounds harsher in my accent, because we roll our R's slightly before vowels :-)

Oh, yes, maybe. I'd love to hear you say it!
It might disappear for a while. It is really quite sad, because Sharon is a beautiful name!
