I think Daisy, Molly, Katie, Romy and Roxy all work on their own. This could be because I've known people with these as full names. The others I think need a full name. I can't picture them on an adult, and I think it's only fair to give the kid options, even if you never call them by their full name. I wouldn't like to have to introduce myself as Gracie, tbh.

I think they all need full names, except Daisy.Daisy - Margaret
Rosie - Rose, Rosemary and Rosalie would be my picks
Katie - I hate Katie, I prefer Kate or Cate, and I would only use it as a nn for Katherine / Katharine
Molly - Mary. I hate the Molly trend, it's too cutesy
Millie - Amelia. I love Millie!
Lexie - Alexandra, definitely. I quite like it
Ollie - I've always wanted to see an Olivia go by Ollie! But I think I'd prefer Olive nn Ollie with Olivia's popularity, or even Olwen or Olympia, at a stretch
Romy - yay, I love Romy! Rosemary all the way.
Susie - I don't think Susie could stand on its own, so I'd go with Susannah
Andie - nn for Andromeda or Andrea. I don't really like it.
Allie - Allie is cute, but I hate Alison. I think Alexandra or Alice nn Allie would be lovely.
Emmy - I love Emmy, if only Emily and Emma weren't so popular. I'd use it as a nn for Emily or Emmeline

I see Jamie on a girl as a standalone, androgynous name. Daisy doesn't ping my "nn only" radar, either. All the rest are just nicknames to me, and I wouldn't put any of them on a birth certificate. I've known plenty of grown women named Jamie, Judy (usually short for Judith), and Daisy, so I can see them working all right on adults even though I don't like them. It's difficult for me to imagine nicknames like Izzy, Emmy, or (please don't) Lexie on a business card, the nameplate of a judge's bench, or even on a credit card. They're just so juvenile and informal. I don't take them seriously.

I think that Daisy, Molly, Romy (maybe), Jessie, and Jamie can all stand on their own. (Jessie normally would not make that list for me, but one of my closest friends is named Jessie - just Jessie - and it works for her.) The rest need full names, IMO.

Daisy is a full name by itself actually because it's a flower (I feel the same about Lily). There's very few nicknames I like as full names which are not any of the ones you listed. However, I think Molly, Romy, Ginny, Jamie, Indy, and Judy could age okay. Millie, Lexie, Gracie, Emmy and Ellie don't feel like adult names to me.

I think they should all have full names....personally.

What would Daisy be a nn for?

Daisy is a nickname for Margaret(Marguerite) .

One thought: Daisettawhich is a place name, the name of a town in Texas; it's on my PNL.Andromache probably knows that Daisy is a full name on its own, and simply overlooked it.:-)

Daisy - Yes.
Rosie - No. Go with 'Rose', 'Rosalie', etc. instead.
Katie - Yes. I grew up with a girl that was just 'Katie'.
Molly - Yes.
Millie - Maybe, but leaning towards a yes.
Lexie - Absolutely not.
Ollie - No.
Romy - Yes,
Susie - No, but I think 'Sue' is alright if you have to.
Andie - NO!
Allie - NO!
Emmy - Spelt 'Emme' maybe, but still probably not.
Ellie - No.
Evie - No. Eve's shorter anyways and sounds more "grown-up".
Frankie - Nope.
Gracie - No.
Ginny - Yes.
Hetty - No.
Izzy - God no.
Jessie - 'Jesse' for a boy yes. For a girl, no.
Jamie - Yes for either gender.
Indy - Indy 500 anyone? No.
Judy - Yes.
Roxy - Maybe.

It's odd, but this is the fourth time in what feels like only two week that there has been a question about wanting to use nicknames as full names. Has anyone else noticed this? No, they do not work as full names. They are cutesy (do you really want to be Lexie all of your life?) and cutting straight to nicknames limits what the bearers can call themselves (Would you rather be just Katie or Katherine with half a dozen nicknames to choose from?).

For the most part, I'm not in favor of nns as fns. Here are the ones from your list that I think work:Daisy - A Daisy is a thing and I can't imagine what it could legitimately be a nn for.
Molly - It sounds nothing like Mary even though it's a nn for it.
Millie
Romy
Allie
Jamie - Because it's been used as a fn for decades and I'm hard-pressed to think of anything it could be a nn for outside of Jamesina (sounds made-up) or Jamina.
Indy - I like it because of Indiana Jones.

Daisy -yes
Rosie -Eh, not really. But I know girls named Anne that always go by Annie so I don't see why someone just can't name her Rose.
Katie - I like Cate as a full name, not so much Katie for some reason. It's fine though, I wouldn't be like "OMG KATIE ISN'T A REAL FULL NAME!"
Molly - yes
Millie - Eh, maybe? Can't see it aging though.
Lexie - not really
Ollie - I know one, and he's like 40s-50s.
Romy - Don't know
Susie - Kind of
Andie - not really
Allie - not really
Emmy - not really
Ellie - sort of, kind of like Katie
Evie - sort of
Frankie - not really
Gracie - sort of but like Rosie
Ginny - not sure
Hetty - don't know
Izzy - no
Jessie - yes
Jamie - yes
Indy - don't know
Judy - yes
Roxy - don't know
The only one that really sticks out to me is Rosie. The rest are iffy. I don't think Izzy, Gracie, and Millie grow up well though.

Daisy technically isn't a nickname. I mainly associate it with the godawful Daisy Buchanan in The Great Gatsby, so yeah, I guess it's ok on adult. Molly is also technically a full name by now. I don't like it, but it's ok to use as such. I can't really imagine a grown up Lexie, Ollie or Susie. The others are all right on adults in informal situation, though I'd still much rather see a full name on a CV.
