I like it. The meaning and the strength of this name are fabulous imo, and I'd love to see it outside of Wales. I picture a young, striking woman with a lot of ambition. Dunno where you live, but here in the States I think most people would say it correctly.

Its not my favorite of the Welsh names. It has a harsh sound. I don't see why it wouldn't work outside of Wales. I am of the opinion that people should not be restricted from using names because its not apart of the mainstream culture they live in.

I think it's nice. Wouldn't really say I like it, but I have a thing for all Welsh names, plus it was a character in the Prydain Chronicles. It's very mysteriously medieval. I think it could work outside of Wales. I can't see how there would be much of a pronunciation issue. Just the one you've mentioned, but it's not terribly incorrect at least.

I've actually heard a BA recently of Angharad. Or maybe it was Arianrhod... now I forget. But the middle name was Juliet. Angharad Juliet would be beautiful.

How do you pronounce it? I would instinctivly pronounce it an-gah-rad but I guess that's not right.
I can't really say what I think since I don't know how it's pronouncd but it looks a bit complicated and if I didn't know it was a feminine name I would think it was masculine. It could probably grown on me though.

I really like it, but it would definitely run into problems outside of Wales. Maybe as a middle name? I think it's beautiful, but there are Welsh names that would be easier to stomach for non-residents of Wales (Carys, Lloyd, etc.).

I think it'd have a terribly tough time.

I like it. My best friend is named Angharad Mair, so I think of her. She had some pronunciation issues in school; most people got it right after the first correction, but one teacher forever called her "anga-RAHD" for some reason.
