Re: Layla

I LOVE Layla. It's a shame it got so popular all of a sudden because of stupid Kayla. I also love Laelia (that I pronounce LIE-lee-ah).
Layla: LIE-lah
Laila: LIE-lah
Lyla: LIE-lah
Lila: LEE-lah
Lilah: LIE-lah
Lylah: LIE-lah
Leyla: LAY-lah
Lejla: LAY-lah
Out of those I like Layla, Laila, Leyla and Lejla. I also like Leila. I guess the many spellings are pretty confusing. There will probably a lot of spelling out loud going on.

Do you pronounce Leila as LY-la as well? I think most people in Germany do. So that would probably be better than Layla where some say LAY-la and some LY-la. I only worry that Leila sounds too much like "leider".
Laelia looks pretty I will look it up. I think it could really grow on me.
Oh and I hate Kayla ugh...

Hmmm. Actually I'd pronounce it like LAY-lah, but LIE-lah makes more sense, at least in Germany. That said, I don't think I know a single Leila. Everyone spells it Laila, Layla or Lejla, so the first Leila I'll meet will probably influence my pronunciation of the name.
"Leider" has never come to mind when I've heard Leila. Stupid association, but it wouldn't bother me too much.
