Rebecca and Pamela
I've been thinking about Rebecca recently, but I'm starting to like Pamela too.
What do you think of each name and which do you think is better? For Rebecca, I like Becca best as a nickname, but I haven't ruled Bex and Reba out entirely. For Pamela, I think that I like Mel best because I'm not too keen on Pam.
How do you feel about the nickname? Are there others that you would like better? As far as Combos go, Rebecca is, in my mind, split between Rebecca Eve and Rebecca Annabel (two wonderful suggestions I got a short while ago). With Pamela, I'm leaning towards Pamela Ruby or Pamela Laurel, but I worry that the second one has to many L's.
Do you like the Combos? Can you think of any that you think might work better for Pamela?

I love Rebecca, and Rebecca Eve is beautiful. I like Pamela, and meeting a young Pamela today would make me happy, but I dislike every nn, including Mel. I think the beauty of Pamela is found only when the name is said in full. Pamela Ruby is a great combo.

I don't hate Rebecca but I just find it boring. Rebecca is very popular for girls my age so I have always grown up with heaps of them and so I just find it a totally benign name. Not bad, just complete uncomment-able, like Jessica really. My favourite nn for it is Becca. Bex feels forced and Reba is kind of country hick to me.
Rebecca EVe and Rebecca Annabel are gorgeous. Rebecca Eve flows better to me though.I hate Pamela. It reminds me of Pamela Anderson. It just screams trashy to me, plus it is dated and not quite ready for a comeback IMO. Mel is the best of the nicknames though. So, I definitely prefer Rebecca to Pamela! Pamela Ruby is better than Pamela Laurel. Too many ls in the second combo

I love Rebecca-classic, graceful, pretty-but I hate Pamela. Pam will be the inevitable nickname; I've never known a Pamela to be called Mel. Its always Pam or Pammy.I like Rebecca Annabel and Pamela Ruby. Here are a few other suggestions for Pamela:Pamela Eve
Pamela Jane
Pamela Sylvia
Pamela Joan
Pamela Irene
Pamela Quinn
Pamela Rose
Pamela Ruth

I love Rebecca. Pamela feels very dated to me. Although, the suggestion of Pamela Ruby is rather intising. I think I prefer Rebecca Annabel. As for Pam, I really don't care for it. I'm not too fond of Mel, for that matter.

Rebecca is a pretty name. I like Becca and Bex the best as NN's. I'm not too big on Reba though. Rebecca Eve and Rebecca Annabel are both pretty, although I think that Rebecca Eve has a better flow.I prefer the sound of Rebecca, but Pamela is also nice. I think that it would be fine to use it without a NN. I actually prefer it without a NN. I knew a Pamela who always went by Pamela. No one (at least not to my knowledge) called her Pam. I agree that Pamela Laurel is a bit too heavy on the L's. Pamela Ruby flows very nicely though.

Rebecca is nice and I love Becca. I think of it as timeless although Becky is rather dated. Pamela, otoh, I find very dated and I'm with you on the ixnay on the nn Pam. Then again, I'm not wild about Mel either. Still, I think I'd rather be called Mel than Pam.Rebecca Eve is gorgeous.

I like both names. If I had to choose, I'd say I like Rebecca more. They've each had their spike in popularity, but Pamela's was longer ago than Rebecca's, so at this time I'd much rather hear of a little Pamela than a little Rebecca.Becca is a great nickname for Rebecca, better than Bex and Reba. I particularly dislike Reba. I can see why you're not too fond of Pam, but I don't think Mel is any better, in fact, I think it's much worse. It's too masculine. Makes me think of Mel from the old TV series "Alice." If I had s daughter named Pamela, I think I'd just call her Pamela. I'm no good at coming up with combos, but my sister is named Pamela, so I'll just throw out her middle name. It's Pamela Jill.

Jill is too nicknamey for me. Pamela Jillian is okay, but I would have to think about that one more.
