I pronounce them slightly differently:
Erin is err-in,
Aaron is air-in. Actually, the last one is a mix between -in and -on, which I can't write out.
To the OP: I know a man named
Erin as well. It's a bit like imagining a macho man holding a purple sequined purse to me, in that there's nothing necessarily wrong with it, it just makes little sense to me.
