I grew up with a boy named Cary, so it never seemed 'odd' to me as a boy's name. And he wasn't made fun of for it, as far as I knew. I like it; reminds me of Cary Grant, too. :)

I personally love the name but only for a girl (spelled Carrie). It's one of my faves at the moment, and I'm not fond of it on a boy. Although for a boy, I think of Cary Grant, so that's not so bad. I think Cary Walter makes a very nice combination, especially since Walter has meaning for you.

Cary is an alright name and of course the actor Cary Grant comes to mind, which is not necessarily a bad thing at all! Cary Walter I don't really like, because Walter is not my style. If it's a family name of yours, then it has meaning to you, which is nice. I also like these combos:

I actually like the name Cary for a boy... but I am not a big fan of Walter.. but if you are going to use Cary for a boy you are probably going to want to use a more masculine mn like Walter!

Personally, I don't like Cary, because I have a relative of the same name and I don't particularly like him. Walter is a good mn, though.

It reminds me of Cary Grant and someone I know personally. It has these qualities: warm, youthful, sophisticated, but not stuck up.

The only down side, of course, is the girl's name Carrie. I don't think this is a "problem," but I'm in the minority (here in the US). I'd love to meet a little Cary Walter. Terrific.
