It's the one Hebrew name I seriously dislike, a kind of exception that confirms the rule, I guess. I find the "ya" sound unattractive.

I think it is lovely but I prefer the spelling Jael.

I like it and know a Yael in her 30s.
The name is popular in Israel at the moment.
