For good or ill, Nicolas Cage was not the first person in the world to have the idea of naming his child after Superman or his father. I first saw Jor-El used as a name for a real baby in the USA over 30 years ago; in fact, maybe this father is that baby! And I have also seen Kal-El given at least once or twice before Nicolas Cage used it.
