It sounds dated, hillbillyish, and the meaning has to do with snakes. Also bears unattractive resemblance to Bertha, Beverly, and Bessie. Kind of a fail for me.
As far as nicknames, Belle is INFINITELY superior to Bindy, which makes you sound culturally ignorant.
