I hate the name Mia. I find it one of the most annoying names around. It is so insubstantial and cutesy and I generally think of it as a real mumble of a name. Add to the fact that it *is* popular- it brings me to the conclusion of don't use it.

I know three little girls named Mia and one girl my age. I prefer the similar Maia or Maya. They have a lot more history and substance and just don't seem as singsongy and cutesy.
