It's cute. I knew a girl named Hetty in my school too, which I like even more.

As a nn for Harriet (or Harriette, which is the spelling I have been preferring recently). it is gorgeous. I would gladly agree to naming my daughter Harriet and nicknaming her Hattie

Hattie is sweet as a nn, as a given name it doesn't seem like it would age well.

My four year old neice has a lovey she calls "Hattie". It used to be a doll with a hat, all that is left now is the hat!

I adore Hattie as a nickname for Harriet.

I think Hattie is darling. I actually think it might age well, and function well as a full name, because it has that old-lady strength behind it that gives it more power than Minnie, say, or Daisy. Hetty, too, has that potential.

I can't seperate it from Hattie McDaniel. Which isn't a bad thing at all, she was a groundbreaking actress. It just sounds very old-fashioned because of it.

I don't think it's very attractive at all. It doesn't sound like a little girl to me. It sounds like a 90-year-old woman with a mean mouth.
