But Sawyer is his surname
in reply to a message by Alice
not his fn. Actually it is not even his real surname but this is beside the point.Since such occupations names are aldready popular in USA (like Taylor, Tyler, Mason, Carter etc), I am sure Sawyer will be popular too. And parents say "oh, it is so cute for a girl". I don't like such names as fn and espcecially not for girls. But I am European and old-fashioned.I wonder if Carter got popular b/c of the TV series ER? But this Carter was named John Carter, so Carter was a surname here too."You sought a flower and found a fruit. You sought a spring and found a sea. You sought a woman and found a soul. You are disappointed."

I know .. his real name was James something, but I only think of him as being Sawyer as that is what he's usually called =)I really really dislike Carter (and most surnames) *especially* on girls .. I actually find masculine names on girls quite "offensive" (does that make sense?) and cutesyI am from England :)Alice
