Twins and some funny names
Here are some names of some of the babies I saw at work today (good, bad, and ugly).Barrett James and Aubrey Rose (twins)
Sanaii (f) -Apparently it is pronounced Suh-nigh.
Ethaniel -This one cracks me up. Its as if they couldn't decide between Ethan and Nathaniel so they chose Ethaniel.

I don't like Barrett, but James is good. Aubrey I prefer for a boy. Sanaii is not my thing at all. Ethaniel reminds me of ethanol as bit, and of a name for some sort of bad fantasy novel.

I actually quite like Barrett and Aubrey...I think they're cute for twins.
Sanaii is horrible...it's as though they liked the sound of Sinai and then thought they should change it so it looks more namey
Ethaniel is funny- poor kid.

Well, they don't really pronounce it Sinai. It is more like Suhh-nigh.

A friend of mine works in a NICU too, and she occasionally shares the names of the babies with us too (even though she's not supposed to). So far my favourite of the bunch was a tiny baby girl named Nelly Cookie. Isn't that just too adorable for words??

I think it sounds a bit ridiculous to be honest. Nelly was okay, though it would have been better as a nn, but Cookie? Thats just ugly.

Well, I guess I am a bit two-faced in that I can tolerate iffy names a little more on babies who will probably not live past their fourth birthday....and I think Cookie was her last name. That's another thing to think of - what do you do when the last name is something that would make a first-name choice look foolish in conjunction with it? I'd probably have to throw out three-quarters of my list! Archie Cookie? Ruby Cookie? That wouldn't work.... :)
