I love both. Generally, I prefer Marielle (pr. mah-ree-ELLE or even mar-ee-ELLE), however, lately I've been into Mariel (MARE-ee-el). I think it complements my surname better and I just like the look of it.

I like the look of Muriel better, but not the sound. Mariel is very pretty, and a nice move away from Mary.

The name Mariel is lovely. Marielle looks and sounds a bit long if you know what I mean. I do like Mariel though.
