Daisy
This has been on my list for a long time. However I'm still not sure whether it's usable or not. I've met quite a few dogs (and other animals) with the name and all of my friends absolutely hate it. They say it's childish and immature and not a good name for a human being.
I understand that it's a bit cutesy but it never bothered me. I don't think that Daisy is any worse than Lily, Gracie or Zoe.
What do you think? Is it usable as a first name or is it too cutesy?
Oh and please don't suggest Margaret nn Daisy as I absolutely do not want that. I have very bad associations with Margaret and dislike it in general. Marguerite is better but still not for me. I also dislike anything else it could be short for so it would be Daisy as a full name or not at all.
The other thing is that I usually prefer long, feminine, in A ending girls names, my favorites being Estella, Aurora, Cecily, Adelaida, Elinor and Juliet and I wonder if a Daisy would feel weird between all those grown up, mature names.
I love it so much but I don't want to settle my child with a super cutesy name that she will dislike when she is older so I need your advice.
Oh and it has been used by Scott F Fitzgerald for The Great Gatsby and Benjamin Button, does anybody know why he named two of his characters Daisy? Just a bit curious.
Also do you think it will rise in popularity? Maybe even get as common as Lily?
Do you know any little Daisys? dogs or kids?

I like Daisy on it's own and...
I don't think she'd feel out of place with all those others. Juliet is kind of young sounding too. I don't really think it was rise in popularity.

I like Daisy as a name on its own and I think Daisy M ae would be too cute.
We had a dog and a cow named Daisy (we had the dog first) and my friend named her cat Daisy. I love the name, but then again I do see it as being a pet name and it's hard to see it on a child. Plus, I've never met a person named Daisy. It MIGHT rise in popularity, but it's already pretty popular though it does look like it's falling (http://www.behindthename.com/top/search.php?terms=daisy). You could always use it as a MN if you want to.
