Mathilde
What do you think of Mathilde? How do you pronounce it? I say mah-TILD or mah-TEELD (but I prefer the first pronunciation). In German you could also pronounce it mah-TIL-deh.Would you spell it Mathilde or Matilde?Do you prefer Matilda or Mathilda over Mathilde? Will it get common like Matilda?

I love Mathilde, it's one of my top favs, I pronounce it Mah-TEELD. I have had my top combo as Lucie Mathilde for ages!I also really like Matilda, but probably wouldn't use it, I think Mathilda is nice too. I don't like Matilde.

I adore Mathilde (strictly pronounced "ma-TEELD"), and I prefer it to Matilde, Matilda, and Mathilda.

Still makes me think of Waltzing Matilda....

I love Mathilde, only with this spelling and only pronounced mah-TEELD.Mathilde is my favorite variant. I strongly prefer it to Matilda/Mathilda.I wouldn't expect Mathilde to get as common/popular as Matilda.

I say ma-TEELD almost without thinking but could make it mah-til-dah easily enough, I'd just have to be told once.
I'd spell it Mathilde. I adore that 'H'! But overall, Mathilda gets all my love, I think Matilda's too kangaroo-y and Mathilda looks the elegant way I prefer. I don't think Mathilde/ Matilde will become common. I don't even think Matilda will do more than make it into the top 100. Mathilde/ Matilde will be a lovely variant.

I think Mathilde (mah - teeld) is best. I like it as a middle name. If you're looking for a first name, I'd go with Matilda.

I love Mathilde! Every time I see it, just for a second I want to say ma-THILD. After that second is over though I say it mah-TEELD. Matilde is mah-TILD. I prefer Mathilde. I don't prefer Matilda or Mathilda. I think this name has so much more elegance with the e at the end. It might get common, but somehow I doubt it. I think simply because most people prefer the a ending. I don't know, I could be wrong.
