Camille or Camilla?
What do you think of Camille? I think it's really sweet and it makes me think of flowers. I'm worried she'd be called Cam or Cammie, though. What do you think of Camilla? How would you spell it? (I've seen Camila, Camilla, Kamila and Kamilla).Which one do you prefer?Do you know anyone named Camille or Camilla?

Well my own name is Camille so naturally I prefer it over Camilla.
Nearly 100% of the time people address me as my name ,Camille, except for some of my friends who sometimes call me Cammie to annoy me. I personally wouldn't worry about that, because it really isn't an issue.

I prefer Camille, which I adore. Camilla is nice too, and I also like Camila (cah-MEE-lah, whereas Camilla is cah-MILL-ah). Kamila and Kamilla should be avoided unless you have heritage to back them up.

I much prefer Camilla, especially since if you don't like Cam or Cammie, you may like Milla. I find when there is a nickname I don't like, I can overlook it if I can find an alternative nickname that I can suggest to those people who insist on using nicknames.

I'd go with the spellings you have and just insist people address her by her actual name.
I think which is preferable depends on what you wish to pair it with.
A family friend has a baby named Kamila. I think a gal I knew in uni that we called Cami is actually a Camilla, but I haven't met a lot of them.

I like Camille slightly more, I like it with the nn Millie.I have known one Camille (she was about 5 or 6 when I knew her, she had red hair) and I knew a Camilla as well (about 11 when I knew her).I'd consider using Camille as a middle name but Grant had a fling (before he met me) with a girl named Camilla so not sure about that. Maybe if I had a child in the future and I wasn't with him (he wasn't the father)

I love them both! I think I like Camilla a tiny bit better, though. But only because I don't know anyone with that name.I do have a friend named Camille, and she doesn't go by a nickname, never has.

I like Camille, but prefer/love Camilla.I like the spelling Camilla when pronounced "kuh-mill-uh" and Camila or Kamila for "kuh-mee-luh".I don't know anyone with either name.

I love both names.Camille sounds like a very sweet name, while Camilla is a bit more edgy.I have a friend named Camilla, and she is often called Cammie. I don't really like Cammie, but that's what you're gonna face with either of these names.

Camille! It's very sweet. Camilla is an unnecessary elaboration. You'll still get Cam or Cammie from Camilla... I don't know why you're only worrying that that'll happen with Camille.Camille is spelled Camille; Camilla is spelled Camilla (to me). I much prefer Camille.I know a girl who goes by Camille, but it's her middle name. My roommate's middle name is also Camille. I don't know anyone with Camille as a first name. Ditto Camilla.

I slightly prefer Camille, because Camilla reminds me of Camilla Parker-Bowles.
I know a Camille, she doesn't go by a nickname.

I much prefer CamilleCamilla seems more stuffy to me for some reason. I also generally don't like names that end with -illa. I ALWAYS think Gorilla. Crazy yes, but I can't help it. Camille is elegant and pretty without trying to hard. I love her and she is one of my top choices for a MN although I often think she would be a perfect first name too. However, when I move her to first name, I want to make it Camellia nn Camille.

I love Camilla, though I'm also fond of Camille.I'm acquainted with two girls named Camille -- one adopted the nickname Cami, and the other adopted Mila.

I like both. Since I am brazilian, Camilla seems more natural to me (our feminine names usually end in a, the ones ending in e are adopting the french spelling). I had several high school friends called Camila, they usually adopted the pet form Mila.
