If you had twin girls...
...what would you name them?Tonight, if I had twin girls, I would name themMercedes Sophia Bryn
and
Amedea Tamsin Rue*edited to add these questions:Do you like matchy twin names? Like my great-grandmother and her sister, who were Leda and Freda? Or is that a bit over the top?Or would you be otherwise thematic, e.g. Ruby and Scarlett?

Mercedes Sophia is really pretty.
I think, right now, if I had twin girls, I'd name them:
Olivia Rose and Lily Grace, even though I think my cousin, Audrey, named her daughter Olivia Rose. I don't see her much. Not sure if it would be weird though.

At the moment, mine would be:Evelyn Josephina
Ruth Magdalene
I'm usually indifferent when it comes to matchy twin names. I don't like rhyming names (like Leda and Freda), but twins with the same initials don't really bother me. But then, my twin sister and I are Tina and Tonia and we've never had a problem, so I'm probably biased. =) I don't mind themed sibsets, either, if they're similar to Ruby and Opal or Ivy and Violet. I wouldn't personally use matching or themed names, but it doesn't bother me when I see them, unless it is something along the lines of Alexander and Alexandra or Mae and Fae.

I would name them Brooke Adelaide and Zoe Pearl

Eleanor Natalia and Matilda JoanI really dislike matchy or themey twinsets. I think twins are two different people and deserve two different names. I don't mean use something completely opposite like Madysen and Wilma, but two names that are distinctly different but compliment each other. Of course, with my twinset, the MNs are kind of themed (honor myself and my best friend), but it's something only I and my family would know. So that's not bad.

I don't like themes or rhyming names when it comes to twins. I am not really even a fan of matching initials. If I had twin girls today I would name them: Amelia Josephine
Eleanor Mae (Not sure on the Mae)

OOPS! It would be Eleanor Louisa, not Mae

Great minds think alike!I love both your combos, so beautiful and classy. I obviously love Eleanor since I hope to use it someday and I considered Amelia and Josephine at one point. I also love Louisa / Louise :)

Eloise Mary and Stella Jane
That's the first that comes to mind.
I don't like rhymey twin names, and I think thematic names are a little tacky....but that goes for twins and any other siblings.

Today i would call them
Amelie Violet & Louisa Iris

Gorgeous. Subtle matchiness with MNs. Love it. Wow.!

At the moment...... I'd go with:Bell Shahrazad
Miri Clementina
My family has a history of doing the matchy thing- I have cousins name Dae and Rae as well as Charlene and Darlene- but I feel like the kids will have a hard enough time as youngsters trying to forge their own identities. Rhyme-y names would make it even worse!! Theme names aren't so bad though, like Hannah and Grace (though I wouldn't personally use that set myself).

At the moment: Felicity Leah and Bonnie Aviva.I really hate matchy names, like Gerald/Geraldine, Tommy/Timmy, etc. It compromises the kids' senses of identity. The only themes I would use are same meaning or a tie in the OT. For instance, I'd do Merav and Michal, since they were King Saul's daughters. I'd do Caleb and Joshua, since they were the only two men of Moses's team to make it to the Promised Land.

Helena Esme Seraphina and ...Rosalie Stella Maude today.I wouldn't purposely try to match my twin names. I especially don't like when the names are almost exactly the same. I probably wouldn't be thematic on purpose either, but many of the names I like have similar meanings, so it might happen anyway.

Aina Katariina and Jemima Leea "Jemma"
(Jemima pronounced YE-mee-ma.)Freda and Leda are too matchy for siblings, twins or not. I also dislike too obvious themes (like Ruby and Garnet). Names starting with the same letter are OK as long as the names aren't too alike. George and Gideon wouldn't bother me.

Ohh!I adore both, especially Lara Katharine - it's so beautiful!

Eh.. boys are so much easier than girls..Evadne Cassandra & Maren Hermione...maybe.

Today I'd name them Vanessa and Veronica. Not because of the V theme, those are just the two names I dig the most now.The only thing that bothers me with twins is rhyming names, i.e. Leslie and Wesley, Hayley and Kayley.

I hate matchy twin names, both the similar-sounding ones and the ones that have an obvious meaning connection, such as Winter and Summer or Rose and Lily.
However, I like the idea of a "hidden" theme, as in names that look and sound totally different but have similar etymologies. My twin girls would be Malka Anna and Regina Luisa (middle names are honouring).

Xanthe & Adelaide nn AddieI'm not happy with Xanthe's middle names, but today I'll stick with:
Xanthe Lyric Evangeline
Adelaide Lucy Aviva nn AddieNormally I wouldn't put these two together because I don't like them for twins. But lately I'm loving Adelaide too much to pass on it for a second girl, even if that second girl happenes to be Xanthe's twin. And, as part of the reason I don't like them for twins is that Xanthe and Addie rhyme, you are probably going to guess my answer to the second question! I don't like rhyming names like Leda and Freda at all, for siblings or twins. They are going to be compared to each other and confused with each other enough as it is, especially if they are identical. Ofcourse this isn't such a big deal for rhyming nicknames. As for a theme such as RUby and Scarlett- I don't mind this if your favourite two girls names happen to be Ruby and Scarlett and you'd name two girls this wether they were twins or not- you shouldn't have to give up one of your favourites. But to do it on purpose? Thats just cutesy and cheesy IMO.Ok..I'm done.

Alice Margery and Catherine Thisbe "Kitty", if I went with my usual favourites. For something different, perhaps…Parnel Joy "Nell" and Maud Eurydice.ETA: I really dislike matchy twin names. If they sound similar, it breeds confusion, and both kinds of matchiness kinda pressure twins to be the same person, rather than two separate people, which I gather twins have to deal with all the time.I have to admit I have a GP weakness for somewhat subtly themed twin names, though. Abigail and Martha, Cecily and Gwendolen…those are the only ones that come to mind. I wouldn't use them but they make me happy.

Annabel Sophie Clara "Anna"andRose Adelaide Juliet / Rose Adelaide MatildaI am so horribly bad at coming up with girls' combos that I like...so many of my favorite names wouldn't work in a sibset because they're too close, like Annabel and Isobel, Charlotte and Caroline, etc...
