What do you think of this name - I like it but am concerned cause my daughter has a cousin called Alexandra. Are Cassandra and Alexandra too similar?? Do you like the name Cassandra - which nicknames do you prefer, Thanks for your help.

I love Cassandra. I prefer no nickname, but 'Cass' seems the most natural.
I don't think a cousin named Alexandra is a problem.

Of course they aren't too similar. Alexandra and Alexandria wouldn't even be too similar. They are cousins, not sisters so it shouldn't matter.Cassandra is nice but I only like it in its full form. No Cass, no Cassie, Sandra, Sandy etc just Cassandra. It has been used a bit in the 80s so it feels a bit dated. Still I like it a lot.

They are similar but I suppose it would depend on what Alexandra is called. As for me, I prefer the whole name, Cassandra. It looks lovely written down, doesn't it? Possible nicks: Cass, Cassie, Casey, Sandra, Sandy, Andra, Annie (a bit of a stretch, though).

I rather like the name Cassandra very much. I don't really like any of the Cass- nicknames, but Sandy or Sandra might be nice. I do not think that Cassandra and Alexandra are that similar. Alexandra has 4 syllables and if the girls are cousins, it shouldn't be too bad.

I love the name Cassandra-and the pretty nickname Cassie is my favorite, and it is not overused. I love it. Cassandra and Alexandra are 2 different names, and they do not seem very similiar to me.

I love Cassandra. And I think it's fine with the cousin because unless she (or you) is actively against nicknames, she's not actually going to be referred to as Cassandra too often. For that matter, is Alexandra always called by her full name?I really like Cassie for Cassandra. Andy is also good. It takes the girliness out of the name, since it's also a nickname for Andrew.
