Hi, I have a Louis and am in the UK and here it's pn'ed Lou-ee. I'm in Scotland a lot as my OH is Scottish and it's mostly pn'ed Lou-ee up there too. There are exceptions to the rule of course!

I agreethere will be exceptions but they are most often pronounced differently. e.g. Robert Louis Stevenson is Loo-ee, while Lewis Grassic Gibbon is obviously loo-is

thank you!That's very interesting about Robert Louis Stevenson. As an American I don't think I've ever heard his middle name pronounced without the -s sound on the end. :)
