Frances?
I didn't like this name until I read The Stand, and now I love it. :]
WDYT?
Do you like the nicknames Fran and Frannie?
Would you prefer it as a middle name?
Do you know anyone named Frances? Do they use a nick name?
Any combos?
WDYTO Frances Anwen Grace? Frances Eleanor Delilah? Frances Genevieve Leticia? Any other combos? (one or two middle name, or with Frances as a mn)?

It's lovely. So sophisticated, friendly and... don't know, makes me think of someone playful and "forever young". :)
Frannie fits well that image, too.
You combos aren't bad, but I think Francs needs something not more comfortable - names you use are too big, too pompeous for little Frances. :D
I'd try out something like Frances Olivie, Frances Elanor, Frances Penelope, Frances Davida, Frances Amalia, Frances Louisa, Frances Winifred or Frances Veronica.

I adore Frances!
Timeless and chic.
I love the nicknames Franny, Francy and Fran. This name is on our top 5 list if we ever have another daughter, though my DH seems to slightly prefer Francesca (which is also lovely).
I have a couple of clients named Frances- 1 is about 35 and a couple of elderly ladies, as well as a Mary Frances.
I'm not much help with combos, b/c we always use family names as middle names, so if we named a daughter Frances, she would be Frances Jill. But here are some I like if I was concerned with honouring-
Frances Bethany
Frances Cosima
Frances Dahlia
Frances Jane
Frances Mahala
Frances Miriam
Frances Rosalie
I don't care for Frances Anwen Grace (I don't like the repeated "an" -- FrANces ANwen. That's just being nit-picky though)
Frances Eleanor Delilah- love this! Great flow!
Frances Genevieve Leticia- bit of a mouthful, but I like it =) Good flow, maybe better if you switch Genevieve and Leticia around..
Just about anything works with Frances as a middle name, methinks!

Frances is a family name for me, and it's one of the few I like. My grandmother's name is Norberta Frances and she goes exclusively by her middle name.
I don't like the nicknames. Especially Frannie because it makes me think of the woman in Dawn of the Dead and no one likes her (no one I know at least. She wasn't very bright ;])

I love Frances, bot don't care for the nicknames Fran and Frannie.
I love it equally well as a first and middle name, although I use it as a middle name in most combos. (That said, I think the name is underused and underappreciated as a first name.)

Frances is one of my absolute favorite names. ♥
I like Frances but prefer it in the middle spot where it goes with pretty much anything. I had a friend in high school with the name and even though the male form is Francis almost every teacher we had would be suprised that she was not a male. She didn't go by any nickname although people would call her Fran sometimes.
I love it! I dislike all the nns I've ever heard for it though. I prefer it as a first name or the second half of a double name.
My step-great-grandmother was Frances-Anne and I have a friend Mary Frances, but I don't know anyone who is just Frances.

Frances Anne Josepha
Frances Evelyn Paige
Frances Maria Louisa

My favortie of your combos is Frances Eleanor Delilah btw.

I love Frances, one of my top favorites. I love the nickname Francie, like the main character little girl from "A Tree Grows in Brooklyn". Frannie is ok too, but I love the sweetness and the frilliness of Francie. I prefer it as a first name, though it's great as a middle name. I know two people named Frances. A five year old and a 30 year old. The one my age goes by Frances and sometimes France. The 5 year old is Frances Isabelle and goes by Francie and Francie-Bell.
Frances Eleanor Delilah is adorable.

I love "A Tree Grows in Brooklyn" and I also have an Aunt Francie on my father's side. Then on my mother's side my great grandmother was Frances and my mother has three cousins named for her! I *want* to like the name because it is so old-fashioned, but it's not one of my favorites.
I've been hearing of Francesca a lot lately.

Oooh, I didn't think of Francie. I like that nn, too.
Thank you :]
