I don't think it's as bad as some other names I've seen on girls, but the one Campbell I know that's a girl also has a last name that begins with C and ends with two Ls. Ummm, why?

It's like being called Taggart or McDougall!

Makes me think of soup.

Boy only in my opinion...I'm not a huge fan of it for a boy, but it's acceptable, but on a girl its horribly trendy and not pretty at all.

I don't like this name for either gender. It sounds like a last name or a soup. I guess the last name thing isn't that bad, but the soup thing is

Gross.I don't even like it on a boy. To me, it's either a semi-common and somewhat awkward surname or a soup brand. To most Americans, it's just a soup brand. Just plain gross.

I'm not even American and it's still just a soup brand to me. We have it over here, too.The name is horrible on either gender, but especially on a girl. There's nothing feminine about it whatsoever.

on a boy... maybe... on a girl... no... I still think of it more as a surname... most of which either shouldn't be used as given names or only suit boys... and for many of the latter, even that's a bit of a stretch (I'm getting so tired of Jackson)

I only like it on a boy

Ugh Ugh Ugh. Awful on a boy, a million times worse on a girl. The only nice thing about it is the nn Cami, which I love. But Campbell is awful, all I can think of is soup.

Campbell on a girl is terrible imo, don't like it at all.

It's no worse than any other surname used on a girl. I think Campbell has a nice sound to it at least, unlike Sutton... yes, I've seen it several times on baby girls. :(There's actually a female news anchor who used to be on around here whose name was Campbell.

Yuck. I hate this name for any gender, it makes me think of soup. Its not a name, its not feminine at all.

Ugh ... It's not even an attractive surname to begin with and it's terrible on a girl. It's just so masculine and not pretty sounding or looking.

Totally agree

I actually really like Campbell for a girl. We seriously considered it if we had a girl. The only Campbell I've ever heard of, male or female, is Campbell Brown.

Yeah, I agree its horrible. Makes me think of Campbell Brown, the CNN pundit, who at least has a real first name but chooses to go by Campbell.
