Re: Eleanor, Elizabeth and Margaret
I've loved Margaret since I was like 13, and that will be our future daughter's name. It doesn't particularly honor anyone for us, although we both have relatives with that name, but I think it's extra special since it would honor your grandmother, especially if you're close to her. I'm not really a fan of Daisy as a nickname for Margaret because the sounds aren't at all alike, and I love the look and sound of Margaret. How do you get Daisy from Margaret again? I forget. Meg is nice. My favorite Margaret nicknames (in order) are Maggie, Margo, and Greta. Sorry, I can go on forever about Margaret. :)(Wait a minute... your grandmother doesn't happen to be that Canadian writer they mention on this site, does she? Because that would be crazy land.)I too have really been liking Elizabeth lately. It's very plain and beautiful. And my middle name is Elyse, so it could be used to honor me. :) Elle is alright. I think my favorite is Ellie, and I also like Libby and Lily. I love Eleanor too, but I couldn't use it anymore. I also love Nora as a nn. Although Nell is also nice. But yeah, if one was to have two daughters named Elle and Nora, especially if Nora was short for Eleanor, it would be kind of odd.Elizabeth Adelaide is great! I pondered that combo the other day. Margaret Iris is also pretty. I haven't thought much on Elizabeth, so the only combo I have aside from Elizabeth Adelaide is Elizabeth Alexandra. We've had Margaret Evelyn picked out forever, so I haven't done much with Margaret either. So all I have is Margaret Aveline. I've only done combos through my A names as middle names, and I have to get going right now so I don't have time to think of more! I'm sure others will give you some lovely ones though. :)
