I love the mythology behind it and it's always been a favorite of mine. In my case, in would be used on a boy. Any mn suggestions?

I don't really care for it as a name.
I adore it always have
I'm sorry but I really, really dislike Phoenix. It's great that you love and appreciate the mythology behind it, but SO many people who don't care (they just thought it had a "cool" sound) got to it first and cheapened the names meaning a lot, imo. I now think it looks horribly trendy and tacky.
Phoenix Hugo
Phoenix Simon
Phoenix Dante
Phoenix Theodore
Phoenix Elijah
Phoenix Wilhelm
Phoenix Arthur

I don't like it as a name. It just seems kind of silly and excessive. Like naming someone Sphinx or Minotaur or Hydra. Griffin is not that uncommon of a name, but I think that's a bit odd too. Phoenix also makes me think of Jean Grey from X-Men.
Except that besides the bird it was also someone's name in mythology
There was a man named Phoenix in the Illiad and there is also Phoenix the son of Agenor in Greek mythology. So it's not like naming a kid Sphinx or Minotaur or Hydra because those were never personal names in addition to being the names of creatures/monsters.

Oh
Thanks, I did not know that. But since I didn't know, that's still what it seems like to me. But that does make it less odd then.
