Xavier
My husband loves this name and isn't giving up on trying to win me over on it. I HATE it at this point (for a child anyway), and all it has going for it is the fact that he's passionate about it, it's kind of cute. So I'm trying not to hate it and turn it into something I could tolerate...
What do you think of this name? Should I put my foot down or give it a chance?
What name combos would you make with this name? Keep in mind I would probably make it a middle name...

I really don't like it because someone I hate named Xavier goes to school with me and I have known him since 6th grade (we're in 9th now) and I hate how we're stuck together for 4 more years yet I do like it because it's my little cousin Malikaih's middle name. Malikaih is pronounced exactly like Malachi it's just a variant by the way.
I used to not be able to stand the name Xavier, but then I actually met one. I made a friend who has a son named Xavier and after using it on a regular basis and getting to know the little boy named Xavier I started to like it much more.
I don't think it's such a bad name anymore.

I have a friend who recently had a little boy named Xavier (pron. ig-zay-vyur), and I think it's adorable, but I probably just think that because of my associating it with his darling little blonde haired blue eyed, dimpled face. I think it's a fantastic name, personally, but I can see how someone might be put off by the sound of it. I think it looks awesome on paper. Give it a chance if you can.
I'm not really good at combos but .... Xavier Thomas sounds nice. :-)

I've always quite liked the name Xavier actually, so I say well done to your DH! At least it's a proper name, with a proper spelling and it's not super trendy or something! I think you should give the name a chance. What about these combos:
Rowan Xavier
Gabriel Xavier
Jude Xavier
Xavier Lucas
Xavier Liam
Xavier Dante
Rowan Xavier
Gabriel Xavier
Jude Xavier
Xavier Lucas
Xavier Liam
Xavier Dante
Rowan is a girls name to me
LOVE Gabriel, LOVE LOVE Jude...not sure if they flow well though
Won't use it as a FN, but DH and I both LOVE LOVE Dante, and he really likes Dante Xavier
Thanks!

I like it. It's classy, distinguished and not overdone. The first middle name that comes to my mind is Josue, but that's Span. Plus, he won't be a kid forever. Could call him Xave for short and it's not too different from Dave. (My friend's bro. Zavier goes by Zave)
Hmmm... A smattering of possibilities:

Takashi works if you feel like going with a Jpns. Jpns. name... so does Yoshiki
Nigel
Nolan
Nathanael
Joseph
Gavin
Christian

yes, I suppose Phillip Phillips would be somewhat unfortunate, wouldn't it? Easy to remember the name and not a lot of spelling to learn, but not what one wants to be stuck with.
Its not my style, but its not that bad. I think it would be pretty cool as a middle name.
It's getting very trendy. It's not a bad name, but it's not one I'd consider.
I really don't like it. I think it's mostly the X. They don't do much for me. Even if I try to think only of Charles Xavier from X-Men, which makes it way cooler, I still don't like it. It's better if it's pronounced the French way, though.

It's not really my style, but I don't think it's awful. I dunno, there's nothing wrong with it. I think the reason it's so popular is because it starts with that oh-so-cool X. It's not like it's a trendy mess. Like... Xayden.
