Novian
Hi everyone. My wife and I are expecting and I wanted to name the child Novian if it's a little boy. What do you guys think of the name Novian?

I've never heard of it before but it definitely sounds like a nice name. It makes me think of "novio/novia" which means boyfriend/girlfriend in Spanish, but I do think the name has a nice sound. What are you thinking for middle names?

that's a name? Haven't heard of it before... What does it mean or did you make it up?... makes me think of novacane

Meh...Novia is the Spanish word for "girlfriend" and that's the first thing that comes to mind. I prefer Nolan, Neil, Nelson, etc. for a boy. If you're set on Novian, I strongly suggest using it as a middle name, or keeping your son out of Latin America.

It's decent if you like obscure surname names, which I sometimes do. But I always have reservations about names beginning with the NO sound. I can't help thinking they sound, well, negative, or downbeat. This one is not an exception.

I love it. It's the first time I've heard of it and I think it's perfect (I absolutely adore the spelling too). How exactly would you pronounce it?

I think it is okay. It's not my favorite.

I like it...it's interesting and would serve well.

I like it. I think it would be a good alternative to the slightly dorky Nova.

I like the sound of it, but it is a surname which puts me off. Surnames as first names are so trendy.
