Re: Pearl

What's wrong with Pearl becoming rare as a fn but common as a mn? If you use it as a fn, it's still rare, right? Personally, I love seeing common mns used as fns. I love seeing uncomplicated Rose a a fn. The fact that the fn is so simple gives me free reign to have fun with a mn. Right now, Rose Dominique is my favorite Rose combo, but Rose Octavia is closing in on her.As an Ann Marie myself, I've never suffered from the fact that in the 60's, when I was born, there was a law* that every girl's mn had to be Ann / Anne, Marie or Lynn. No one EVER asked me why my parents didn't give me a real name. What rude people does your friend Anne hang out with? Seriously, I'm at a loss on this one. My best friend in high school (and to this day) is named Anne. Sure, people kidded us. But we never suffered from it. Are you planning on raising a psychological wimp who is felled by, "Oh, your fn is Pearl. My mn is Pearl"? I'm sorry to sound snide. But in a world of melting glaciers, this just doesn't strike me as all that big of a deal. Pearl is a lovely name that you love. I doubt it will become all that popular, as a fn or a mn. You'll be sorry if you don't use it, especially if your fears don't even come true and no one uses it for a mn.
[* There are no naming laws here in the U.S. I'm being facetious when I say there was a law in the 60's.]
