Not in
Adelaide, thankfully. I live in Perth, and I have heard of a few
Adelaide's around here and they seem to get along fine. I long ago made peace with the fact that we are going to be asked alot if she is named after the city. that I can deal with. I plan on politely explaining that
Adelaide was a persons name first- in fact,
Adelaide the city was named after
Queen Adelaide. And what little girl is going to complain about having the same name as a queen?
There are loads of place names being used these days that weren't even names in the first place, so I really don't think it's a big deal. One of my favourite boys names is
Sidney, and I'd consider using
Adelaide and
Sidney in the same sibset. Don't think I'm brave enough though ;)
One of our other posters here (causegirl) has a gorgeous little girl named
Adelaide who just turned 6.
