Was the Noblewhite seems a bit "white supremacist". At least to me it does. Though I honestly wouldn't have made the connection. I think it would make a lovely flower name.

no, actuallyI didn't even think of that. Even though now that you mention it that would also be a problem. It's just that naming a child Edelweiss in Germany would expose the child to constant teasing. It might work okay in the USA but in Germany you not only think of the flower but also of the two words and it's just weird. I mean I love "The Song of Music" and that song always makes me cry but it is just weird as a name. I think if someone would come up to me and say "Hi, I'm Edelweiss" I probably couldn't stop laughing for an hour and that would be a positive reaction. Most people would be like "oh come on, what's your REAL name" or they'd just stare at you as if you were insane.
