2.I don't understand how it would be a NN for Wilhelmine. The "mil" sound doesn't exist in that particular name; I can see it being a NN for Mildred or Millicent, but not Wilhelmine.

True, but by that logic, Bobby, Bessie, Nell, etc. wouldn't make sense either, you know? The sounds exist enough in the name, I think, for it to work. But either way, I'm kind of lenient when it comes to nicknames. =P

I guess you're right. Peggy is a valid NN for Margaret, but that doesn't make sense, either. But then, I'm more...I don't know the word...traditional when it comes to NN's.
