Laverne
I don't like Laverne. Should I like it, lol? In theory, it's a name I should like, but don't. The reason I ask, I've been listening to a lot of the Andrews Sisters lately, and I have a fondness for LaVerne (random capitalisations, FTW!). However, I do not have a fondness for her name. Do you like Laverne (the name, that is)? If you do, can you give me reasons (other than Miss Andrews :)) why I should like it? Talk me into it, I suppose. Otherwise, could you give me some alternative names that are reminiscent of Laverne?
Thanks!
Thanks!

I knew a Laverne once. She was my best friend's mother when I was a teenager. She was a great woman, not trashy at all.
But the name? It just seems tacky, though Laverne herself wasn't.

Sorry, I don't like it.
I always think of Laverne & Shirley.
Actually, Maxene didn't really get a good deal, either. Her name was misspelled. :( Though, LaVerne got a great middle name--Sophie.
That's the exact way it looks to me, too, like Verne with 'La' in front of it. I've been looking it Laverne's roots, and apparently Laverna was the Roman goddess of thieves and thievery, LOL. Poor, poor LaVerne. :)

Lavinia is divine. Oooo, Fern is workable.
Thank you!
Thank you!
No. Sorry. It's the ultimate in random-syllables-smushed-together names and it comes off as really trashy, sorry.
What about Lavinia, Laurel, or Lavender?

Lol, you don't have to apologise, I don't like it, either.
I do like Lavinia, though.
