I adore old Anglo-Saxon names like this. But the "Ethel-" part in Ethelred sounds so feminine to modern ears. I love names like this and even I have to tell myself it's masculine.How about Cuthbert? Aethling? I don't know how to spell Aethling to be honest. I've heard it, "AYTH-ling," and fell in love with it. Does anyone know for sure? You should peruse the "Anglo-Saxon" section here at BtN. Ab-Fab.
