Posy, Posey, Posie
I've seen this name a bit lately, in these three spellings. I know in one case it was a nickname for Rose-not sure about the others. I was wondering what other people thought about it. I like it, but think I sometimes have an inclination to like really sugury names like this too much.

I love it! I'd actually consider using this as a nice change from the usual flower names. Not sure which spelling I'd choose though, that would be the hard part!
Posy sounds a little too cutesy for my liking. Better suited for an animal, like the lamb in the Felicity books form American Girl.
I love, love, love Posey as a nn for Josephine. It's one of my favorite names atm and has been for quite a few months.
Edited because I forgot which spelling of Posey was my favorite. *headdesk*

I love it, spelled Posy, but only as an occasional nickname for Josephine.
It's too cutesy as a given name for my liking.

It's adorable! I've also had trouble deciding which spelling I like best. Tonight, I'm going to say Posey appeals to me the most.
There's nothing wrong with too much sugar. :)

I love it as a nickname for Josephine. In the March family books (Little Women, etc), Meg and Mr. Brooke have a third child after Daisy and Demi, and her name is Josephine, called Josie and occasionally Posey by turns (though I can't recall exactly what spelling of Posey they use).
I don't think it stands alone so well, except perhaps in the spelling Poesy (which I would prefer as a middle name, then), or possibly Poesie. Then it's a word, after all. :)

I like it as a nn too - my family calls my sister "Posy"
Though her name is Cassandra - Cassandra Rose to be exact, and so we got Posy by the poem
Rosy Posy puddin' 'n pie
Kissed the boys and made them cry
And when the boys came out to play
Rosy Posy ran away!
And she used to hide from little boys (she was very shy) and so we call her Posy.
She used to hate it but got used to it - she even put on her nametag when she worked at a department store lol! And apparently she got quite a few compliments!
PS: Has not much to do with the topic but kind of interesting. My sister's employers have been cool and let her put her nn on her name tags at all the places she's worked, but she choses a new nn at every place lol So she's gone as Posy, Cassie, Cass, Cash, Rosie, Bunny, Pumpkin, etc... It's been an interesting name experiment!
