There's an article in today's paper about a couple who had a C-Section scheduled for tonight but had an unexpected home birth yesterday. The couple,
Alecia and
Gordon, already had a 20-month old son, Zeb (I'm guessing Zeb is a nn but the article never actually says).
Gordon had to coach
Alecia through labor, and the couple was caught off-guard concerning a name. They had already picked out a name, but considering the unusual circumstances they reconsidered and were unsure of what to name their new daughter.
Before leaving the hospital (
Alecia gave birth at home but then they rushed to the hospital), they had to have a name on file. The couple turned to drawing names out of a hat to decide. The name they pulled out was
Evelyn Lucia (which just happened to be the name they had originally planned on using!), with
Evelyn honoring
Alecia's family and
Lucia honoring
Gordon's.
I thought it was a cute story, and I adore the name.
Evelyn Lucia is beautiful :) Zeb is also cute, though I'm not sure how I feel about
Evelyn and Zeb being siblings. Seems a bit of a mismatch.
