Semi-Celebrity Baby
http://www.people.com/people/article/0,,20214360,00.html"It's been three weeks since his blue-eyed baby debuted in this world, but Thomas Beatie – better known around the world as the Pregnant Man – can already say this about his daughter's personality: "She's easygoing and mellow and intelligent." On June 29 at 8:55 p.m., Beatie, 34, a former female beauty pageant contestant, made cultural history as perhaps the first legally transgender male to give birth, bringing into the world a 9 lbs., 5 oz. baby girl named Susan Juliette. "
So, WDYT of Susan Juliette? I think it's really pretty, although I would prefer Susan JulietPlease don't turn this into an ethics discussion.

I would've preferred Susannah Juliet. Susan is a tad dated to my ears, but Susannah is very fresh and young.

I love Juliette but Susan makes me think of one of those names they use in math books (like "Susan went to the store to buy four eggs" or something). It's a pretty combo though. Congrats to them.

Thanks for posting this. I'd looked for the name when she was first born and it hadn't yet been released, so I forgot all about it. :bI'm not a huge fan of Susan, but it's definitely refreshing these days. Susan Juliette is nice and balanced, imo, too.

I agree with you about the spelling of Juliet, but otherwise I think they did a really great job naming their daughter.

I'ts ok, if a bit dated. I'd prefferd Juliet Susana.

I would prefer Juliet Susan. It flows much better.

Eh, I'm not crazy about either name. She's a cute baby, though.

I like Juliet but not Susan. Juliet Susanna would have been a bit better. :)

It's a nice name.I'm happy she's healthy :)I prefer Susan Juliet as well, but it's a nice combo either way.

The way I see it. The baby would be healthy because Thomas still has a uterus. Technically the part that makes him a Woman is still there.

How refreshing!

Neither name is really my style (I'd probably use something Susannah Julie), but it's still a really good combo, and both the names are very nice.

I like Susan, and wow 9 pounds is big.

Susan!I love that they used Susan. And in this case, I think Juliette looks fine with it, though I don't like Juliet(te) in any spelling.Array

Big ditto!Susan, although generally nms, has always been a name I've loved. Which is ironic, because it's not a color that I like at all (sunshine yellow... ew). But for some reason it just works, you know? Such a sweet name. I'm not really big on honoring names, but if I were to pick a relative to honor it would probably be my cousin Susan. She's 55 and I really don't see her often, but I get along with her so well. We're kind of like sisters 31 years apart who rarely see eachother.

SameI like that they used Susan too, it's such a nice name and it's very interesting now that it's a little bit more dated.

I really like this name as well.
