I agree about Shelby, but I also despise Abigail. One of the reasons I hate Abigail is that it sounds UNfeminine to me.But it is indeed historical, and from that point of view it does really clash with Shelby.
TrittoI agree with Janan.However, Abigail has recently become more and more popular. I'm getting sick of it. Though I'd choose it over Shelby, I am not particularly fond of either name.
DittoI despise the name Shelby, and I can't picture it on anyone but an obnoxious little girl. I'd feel gypped if I were named Shelby and my sister something so lovely as Abigail.
