Pronouncing Alicia
I was thinking about this before bed last night and wondered what you all think. I've heard three ways to pronounce this name.
a-lee-see-uh
a-lish-uh
a-lee-sha
I've meet people who all spell it Alicia but pronounce it differently.
Which pronunciation do you like best?

I use both the first and last pronunciations, but mainly the last.
I only like ah-LISS-ee-ah
I think of uh-LEESH-uh as the American pronunciation but I honestly think it ruins the name. I used to go to sleep to Malory Towers audio tapes when I was little, and the narrator said Alicia's name the English way. I always have, despite the various celebrities who are uh-LEESH-uh.

It used to be a-LISS-ee-ah (like Alice with an ee-ah on the end) almost exclusively in Britain and that's the one I prefer and would automatically use.
However, (and I suppose this is down to American influence) I've think a-LEE-sha is more common on younger girls. That said, the a-LISS-ee-ah pronunciation must still be used a lot as you see a few with the spelling Aleesha, obviously making sure they get a-LEE-sha rather than a-LISS-ee-ah.

Alicia is my cousins name, and we pronounce it a-lee-sha
I prefer ah-LEE-see-ah.
I love this name and I pronounce it ah-lee-see-ah.
I usually say a-lee-sha, but yeah, a-lee-see-uh is way prettier.
uh-LEE-see-uh.
I say A-liss-e-a ( I guess that is close to A-lee-see-uh.)
There was a little girl in the super market the other day. I was charmed when her mother called her Alicia.

I like a-lee-see-uh best, but that wouldn't fly around here. uh-LEE-sha is the norm in my area, and I think it's all right, too. I don't like uh-LISH-uh at all, though.

I usually pronounce it a-lee-sha, but I think a-lee-see-uh is the prettiest.
Ditto.
All the Alicia's I've known in real life have pronounced it a-LEE-sha, so that's how I generally pronounce it. I do think the extra syllable in a-LEE-see-uh is prettier by far, though :)

I say a-LEE-sha, but like a-LIS-ee-a the best.
