Honest opinions please...
My husband and I have a daughter, Avery Virginia, and I am struggling with sister combonations. I had posted before she was born about possibly wanting to change "Avery" to something more girly but in the end we went with Avery (my husband chose it and I didn't have the heart to take that away from him).
There are no names that fit the style of Avery that I can say I love. I like Blair, Laine and Gillian and can tolerate Campbell and Tatum (my Husband really likes Campbell).
On the other hand, I love Madeline, Caroline, Charlotte, Eleanor, Ella, etc.
Would it sound silly to have sisters Avery and Madeline? Avery and Caroline? And so on?
If we were to have a little boy he would be Bennett Samuel and that fits with Avery so I don't have an issue there.
Thank you all!

I think its fine to have different names they don't have to go together. Avery and Ella would be nice.
How about Darcy, Winter, or Harper? Pretty much any really "surname-y" surname would work.
Or Sinclair. Then she could be called "Claire/Clara".
However, I'm also the type of person that really isn't concerned about how well the siblings names "match". Like I would have no problem naming my kids something like...
DS: Luke
DD: Clementine
DD: Maria
...and to me, those names don't "fit" together at all.
Don't let it stop you!

First of all I dont think that sibs have to match. They all have their own personalities anyway so just give them individual unique names you like and not strive for "togetherness". Also I think for girls your husband's taste isnt that great personally. I love your names better. Very feminine. Avery and Madeline would be nice. Variety.
I'm not usually fond of surname first names, but Avery is actually quite nice, and I think it does sound far more girly than boyish, probably because the 'ave' sound is more often on feminine names like Ava, Aveline, Maeve.
I don't think you should get yourself too worked up about siblings names fitting in the first place, but imo it sounds fine with the more traditional Madeleine, Caroline, Ella etc even if they're different styles. What matters more is if both you and your husband like them.
I really don't like Blair, Campbell and Tatum sorry, they're all too masculine for my taste. Also Blair is associated with our wondeful ex prime minister, though obviously not a problem outside the uk, and Campbell is a surname which means crooked mouth to boot.

Don't worry about whether the names "fit" - I think the names you like are lovely, and since your husband picked Avery's first name, pick a girl's name you really love for this one. I don't think any of the sibling combinations sound incredibly silly or mismatched, either. :)
Avery & Madeline sound really good together. I think if you love a name, you should use it whatever (unless you like Tilly & you have a daughter named Milly etc lol).
Bennett Samuel is a really nice combo too.

Honestly, I don't know why people fret over whether sibling names "match", or "go" with each other. I see nothing silly about Avery and Madeline, or Caroline, or Eleanor, or any of the other names you like; you like them, and that's good enough.
It is called "OCD"- LOL - seriously.
I think Avery is ok for a girl, but I've never known any Averys. To me, it has a feminine sound. You could call her Ava.
I don't like Campbell, Tatum, or Laine. Campbell is especially bad. An unpleasant sounding, masculine surname that is forever linked to canned soup. The other names don't sound feminine.
Your other names would pair well. Madeline is tiresome since there are so many Madison, Madelyn, Madeleines, and they all go by nn Maddy. Ella is also very popular.
I love Charlotte, Gillian, and Eleonor (though I prefer the spellings Jillian and Elinor).

Hmmm, I have never thought about calling her Ava. I LOVE Ava!
Thank you.
Thank you.
Two of my most favorite names in the history of my name loving life have been Bennet and Avery!!! I think Avery is very girly and would go with Charlotte, Madeline, Lily, or anything frilly, or it could go with Blair or Tatum that are less girly. =)
Avery has been a favorite of mine since I was in my teens. Bennett has been a love of ours since we heard of it about 5 years ago.
I too believe that Avery suits a girl much more than a boy.
Great taste, GG!
