Theora.
How does the name Theora, which is a feminine name that is presumably a short form of Theodora, strike to you? How would you picture a little girl and/or a grown woman with this name? And would you rather see it as someone's full legal name, or rather as a nickname while Theodora is the full legal name? :)

I like it a lot because it's unusual, and although I've never heard it before, I wouldn't think it made up like some names used today. I think it's a name that could age well from a baby to a grandma, and I would picture at any age she would be pretty, sweet, loving, kind, and a loyal friend. It's also a name I could see as a nickname or full name, since it's not really an established nickname like Bill for William or Meg for Margaret (those couldn't be full names IMO).

Theora is lovely. I think it could stand alone as a full legal name.

It's almost too pretty and delicate for me. I think it could stand on its own just fine.

It looks like "Theory". Theodora is better.

Wow, Theora is really nice, even though I absolutely hate Theodora. :)

Oooh Pretty....I love so many -ora names. I am adding this one to my list. It sounds very regal to my ears. A child Theora could go by Thea. I think it makes a fine FULL name and is much prettier than Theodora.

To me, it looks like someone trying to take Theo and make it girly.
I like Theodora much better, and while I can see it as an NN, personally, I just dont like the look of it.

Theora is pretty, but there are enough other variants in the Theodora name family that I'd never consider it myself--I like the others better. :)I think Theora would stand on its own without trouble.Array
